Since 25th May 2018 under the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations) all businesses that retain personal data are required to be clear about what they retain and how it will be used. This privacy notice makes you aware of how I use your personal data.

Personal data such as your name, address, phone number and email address will be retained and used by me to keep in touch with you from time to time about my products, offers and services in accordance with the legitimate interests provision of the GDPR. I use MailChimp to bulk email contacts on my list; MailChimp is GDPR compliant.

You may opt out of receiving further emails or contacts by phone, text message or mail at any time by emailing me at info@debrathorpecoaching.com.

Prior to any coaching sessions commencing I will undertake an initial call with you for us to decide if we wish to work together and if coaching is the right approach for you. During this call I will need to make note of information you provide, some of which is regarded as Sensitive Personal Data under the GDPR. This includes information about your health. I will require your prior consent to do this. If you do not wish to give your consent this is entirely your choice, however I will not then be able to coach you as I must establish, for your own wellbeing, whether coaching is appropriate for you.  I may also make note of such Sensitive Personal Data you provide in the course of your subsequent coaching with me.

Please be aware that to comply with my contract with my insurers, if you proceed to coaching with me I must retain your personal data, including your Sensitive Personal Data, for 5 years. After this time it will be destroyed, provided it need not be retained longer in relation to an insurance claim made. All written records relating to your coaching sessions will be kept confidential.

You have the right to request to see all personal data I hold about you and to request any factual errors to be corrected. You may also ask for it to be destroyed, subject to the above information regarding insurance.

I will always be transparent with you about what personal data I retain and for what purpose I will use it and you will always be able to opt out of further communications.

As part of the requirements of maintaining membership of my professional association I must undergo supervision of my coaching practice, however names or other personal details of clients will not be disclosed. In some exceptional circumstances, such as where this relates to concerns for your safety or that of another person, I may need to disclose information to 3rd parties, for example my supervisor or health professionals.
